With all rooms spread across the ground floor, the cottage is accessible for disabled guests and boasts two superbly sized double bedrooms, one with room for a wheelchair.

Further through the cottage is a well-maintained shower room and a drying cupboard, particularly useful if visiting in winter! The open kitchen/dining/lounge comes fully equipped with an electric oven and fridge/freezer plus a cosy wood burning stove and a TV and DVD player, providing all you need for a relaxing evening. Step to the rear of the cottage and discover a hidden gem – a beautiful terrace area complete with furniture, perfect for a sunny day.

With private parking for one car, and further available over the stream, Buttermere Cottage has everything you need for a rural getaway, with plenty to do in the surrounding areas.

In Cockermouth, visit Wordsworth’s House or one of the many art galleries; be adventurous in Braithwaite on the Go Ape circuit; or branch further afield, taking an hour’s drive to Carlisle Castle. Sitting on ten acres of land, Buttermere cottage is an idyllic retreat, surrounded by newly planted woodland, a wildlife meadow, pond and arboretum, with plenty of wildlife to spot including deer, foxes, badgers, and the resident barn owl.

Note for Wheelchair users, the flooring in the cottage is natural slate which is not completely even and the paths in the grounds are unsuitable for a wheelchair.
